Do home ventilation systems work?

Yes. Ensuring you have the right system for the type of house is important. Balanced for an airtight home and positive pressure an older home.

Does adding extra outlets to my home ventilation system effect its performance?

Yes. Only expand your system to the maximum number of outlets recommended to ensure your system is being used as designed.

How do I improve the performance of my home ventilation system?

Reduce moisture levels in your home by use of extractor fans in your bathroom, kitchen and laundry. Avoid un-flued gas appliances as forms of heating.

Do I need an extraction fan in my bathroom?

Section G4 Ventilation of the NZ Building Code states all buildings shall have a way of removing steam from bathing and showering to the outside of the home. When natural ventilation isn’t available an extraction fan is required.

Do I need an extraction fan in my kitchen?

Section G4 Ventilation of the NZ Building Code states all buildings shall have a way of removing cooking fumes and odors to the outside of the home. When natural ventilation isn’t available an extraction fan is required.

Are un-flued gas appliances good forms of heating?

We do NOT recommend using un-flued gas heating appliances. They can result in condensation levels being high and difficult to treat with a ventilation system.
