Reduce moisture levels in your home by use of extractor fans in your bathroom, kitchen and laundry. Avoid un-flued gas appliances as forms of heating.

Section G4 Ventilation of the NZ Building Code states all buildings shall have a way of removing steam from bathing and showering to the outside of the home. When natural ventilation isn’t available an extraction fan is required.

Section G4 Ventilation of the NZ Building Code states all buildings shall have a way of removing cooking fumes and odors to the outside of the home. When natural ventilation isn’t available an extraction fan is required.

Are un-flued gas appliances good forms of heating?

We do NOT recommend using un-flued gas heating appliances. They can result in condensation levels being high and difficult to treat with a ventilation system.
